Joy Griffiths

Joy Griffiths grew up in Trenton, Nova Scotia where she studied dance at the Ashlei Ballet School completing Candian Dance Teacher’s Association (CDTA) and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams in Classical Ballet. Joy became a certified instructor with the CDTA in 2005 as a Ballet Associate member, then in 2012 as a Junior Modern Associate member, and completed the Junior Acrobatic Syllabus training in 2013. Joy received Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Kinetics in 2009 and a Bachelor of Education degree in 2011 from St. Francis Xavier University. In addition to teaching dance, Joy currently works as a physical education and elementary classroom teacher in the Halifax Regional School Board. She is also a certified Yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance and has been teaching Yoga since 2011. Over the past twelve years Joy has gained experience teaching a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Modern, Acrobatic and creative movement programs for young children.
