Sri Lankan-born Vino Wijeratne, trained by the Royal Academy of Dance, moved to Canada in 2004 from Dubai, where she ran her own Ballet school for over 20 years. Since making Nova Scotia her new home, Vino has become an Associate Member of the CDTA. She was also an Associate Member of the Society of Russian Ballet, and gained experience teaching the Vaganova syllabus. ‘Ms. Vino’, as she is popularly known, taught at many other ballet schools before joining the Conservatory School of Dance 8 years ago. Vino considers teaching to be her passion, and in turn excels in fostering a love of dance within the children she teaches.
