About Us

The Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts in Halifax, Nova Scotia has provided high quality instruction for over 50,000 instrumental music, voice, dance and theatre students since its inception in 1887.

A non-profit organization with over 1700 current students, the Conservatory's mission is:

To provide an accessible and comprehensive performing arts program for students of all ages and levels of ability, inspiring a life-long interest in the arts. We support students whose goal is personal enjoyment, as well as those who aspire to a professional career in performance.

Currently, the Conservatory boasts a faculty of over 70 highly-qualified teachers and performers in our Music (instrumental and voice), Theory, Kindermusik and our School of Dance.
