Scholarships & Bursaries

A number of competitive and non-competitive scholarships and prizes are made available each year for promising students:

Competitive scholarship competitions are held each spring and are open to Grade 5 level candidates and higher.

Application deadline for competitive scholarships is March 27, 2009.

Note: The date for determining age eligibility is April 1st.

Application Fee: $10.00 (non-refundable)

Non-competitive scholarships and prizes are awarded on the basis of merit. This is determined largely from examination results as well as participation in MCPA activities such as recitals and ensemble programs.

The Maritime Conservatory reserves the right to withdraw an award from a student whose work is unsatisfactory. Unless otherwise noted, scholarships, prizes and awards over $50.00 are open to returning MCPA students.

All students receiving scholarships, prizes and awards are expected to attend the end of year Convocation Ceremony. Failure to appear could risk forfeiture of the award.

Bursary application deadline is November 30, 2008.
