Debbie Miles has performed throughout Ireland, Scotland, England and North America with classical ensembles and orchestras, back up violin/fiddle with bands and commercial recording work. She has taught violin, string ensembles, orchestras and summer music camps from Ireland to Nunavut (former faculty at Mary Immaculate College, Ireland).
During her years as concertmaster of the Timmins Symphony Orchestra, Debbie and her colleagues developed and grew an innovative youth ensemble program connected to the community orchestra that became a model for other northern Ontario orchestras and their music schools. Debbie currently teaches violin and fiddle to beginner and advanced students of all ages at MCPA and young violin groups in a program she founded at the Halifax Grammar School. She guides her students development with creative ideas, a sense of humour and joy of music along with 25 years of teaching and performing experience. Debbie freelances as a performer of classical violin, fiddle, and pop/folk band genre.
