Since 1947 the Maritime Conservatory School of Dance has been providing exceptional dance classes with a focus on classical ballet in both our General and Professional programs. We offer opportunities for a variety of students, from those just beginning their dance training through aspiring professionals. Our curriculum includes a unique folk dance program and classes in a variety of dance styles including including breakdance, modern, jazz, tap, composition, and ballroom.
The School of Dance at the Maritime Conservatory also offers a highly respected post-secondary Teacher Training Diploma Program. Graduating students are given guidance on job opportunities, negotiating contracts, and self-employment. The Conservatory is frequently sent teaching opportunities and employment listings from schools around the world.
We also offer a full time Professional Ballet Program, designed for dancers aged 12-17 years looking to explore a professional career in dance.
In addition to our annual end of year recital, the School of Dance at the Maritime Conservatory offers many performance opportunities for students, ranging from community outreach performances to in-house recitals, special events to original full-length children’s ballets..

Step 2: Groups and Classes: Our representative will get in touch with you. For classes confirmation of enrolment and payment will be processed.
Private lessons: Our representative will put you in touch with a faculty member.
Once you and your teacher have agreed on the time, length and number of lessons your payment will be processed.
Step 3: Payment: Payments can be made either via phone (902-423-6995) or in-person (6199 Chebucto Road) during business hours before attending your first class.
