Meet The Instructors
Patrick Maubert has a Master’s Degree in Musical Theatre Creative Practice – Directing from ArtsEd: City, University of London. He has toured internationally for with the 12 Tenors and worked with such companies as Musicals Tonight Off-Broadway, Toronto Centre for the Arts, Tokyo Disneyland, Canada’s Wonderland, South Holland Centre UK, Halifax Fringe Festival, and more. He Studied Musical Theatre Performance at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy of New York City. As a performer he has toured internationally and worked with such companies as Musicals Tonight Off-Broadway, Toronto Centre for the Arts, Tokyo Disneyland, Canada’s Wonderland, South Holland Centre UK, Halifax Fringe Festival, Eastern Front Theatre, Neptune Theatre Chrysalis Project and Theatre New Brunswick.
Patrick is the former staging director and has directed such shows as: Little Women, The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Shop of Horrors and the world premiere of Liam: the musical. He has adjudicated music and drama festivals across Canada. Patrick Maubert strives to create a cultural landscapethat is compassionate, welcoming and accessible for all.
Tara Scott has a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance and a Master’s degree of Literature and Performance in Collaborative Piano fromMount Allison University. Recognized as one of Atlantic Canada’s most renowned collaborative pianists, her love of teaching and performing has led her to pursue staff accompanist positions at several universities and perform extensively with singers, instrumentalists and choirs across Canada.
Tara is the principal Music Director and Pianist for Maritime Concert Opera. She has performed eighteen full-length operas and conducted chamber orchestras for two productions. She co-founded Halifax Summer Opera Workshop, a training program with fully staged productions, now in its 16th season. She has worked as a Music Director and performed with Opera Nova Scotia, Opera New Brunswick and Halifax Theatre for Young People. In 2019, Tara received a Merit Award from Theatre Nova Scotia for outstanding music direction.
