Pianist Ria Kim, originally from South Korea, received her education at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts and Dalhousie University where she studied with Oxana Zotova and Lynn Stodola, prior to studying with Daniel Epstein and earning her Master’s degree at Manhattan School of Music, NY.

While she was studying in the conservatory and her undergraduate program, she had entered regional and national competitions such as CFMTA and won numerous prizes in the Nova Scotia Kiwanis Music Festivals. As a member of “Trio Benterria” she also won the Provincial Music Festival 2011, which led them to the National Festival of Music in Saskatoon. Ms. Kim played Beethoven’s ‘Emperor Concerto’ with the Dalhousie Orchestra in 2010, and she was also featured in the NSYO fall concert in the same year as one of the concerto competition winners. Ms. Kim is now an active collaborative pianist playing piano, organ, harpsichord for numerous musicians that participate in exams, concerts, recordings, auditions, music festivals. She teaches mainly classical music, incorporating improvisation.
