Anna Wedlock is a fiddler, violinist, teacher, and arranger. She enjoys teaching pop, celtic and classical music to both children and adults. After a decade of classical violin training with Isabelle Fournier and Philippe Djokic, she began studying traditional fiddle music. These passions have lead to a career as a versatile fiddler and violinist, a frequent collaborator with both classical, traditional and pop musicians, including Jenn Grant, Cassie Josephine, Thomas Stajcer, Ryan Cook, The Big Country Ramblers, and composer David Christensen. As creative director of The Bela String Quartet, Anna has become a sought after arranger, producing dozens of commissioned arrangements for events. In 2019 the quartet collaborated with local hiphop artists to produce Orchestrated Neighbors. Over the last 2 years, Anna has arranged music for Willie Stratton’s album Della Rosa (nominated for ECMA Album of the Year),The Swallowtails (a celtic ep with cellist India Gailey), Cassie Josephine’s album Only Half Blue, and Terra Spencer’s single In the City. In 2019, Anna was nominated for the Music Nova Scotia Musician of the Year award. In 2019, she was the recipient of an Arts Nova Scotia Creation grant for her project with cellist Norm Adams. Recently, she adjudicated the New Glasgow music festival and has served on juries for Music Nova Scotia and Arts Nova Scotia. Violin Lessons – Anna Wedlock

Anna Wedlock is a fiddler and violinist, with a wide range of playing interests, including celtic, bluegrass, pop, and classical. After meeting Natalie MacMaster, she was inspired to begin celtic fiddle lessons, before beginning classical violin studies with Isabelle Fournier (RCM, U.K.). At Dalhousie University, she studied with renowned violinist Philippe Djokic (Juilliard) and at the University of Otago, New Zealand, she studied with Tessa Petersen (Royal College Of Music, UK).nna is an active freelance violinist and is the founding member of The Bela String Quartet. Along with her teaching studio, she has a busy gig schedule, playing regularly with Willie Stratton, the Franklin Brewery Boys, the Big Country Ramblers, and the Big Island Trio.
