About

With over 15 years’ experience, Darrel’s music therapy approach is informed by compassion, self-awareness, creativity and belief in the resilience of people.  Darrel uses a strengths-based approach where the person is invited into a collaborative experience using their own unique strengths and creativity. Darrel graduated with a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree from Capilano University in 2006 and completed his internship the same year.  He has a breadth of experience ranging from work with seniors in long-term care; children, youth and families in health care; youth in mental health care; and with families in bereavement. Darrel has worked at the Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building, IWK Health Centre, St. Vincent’s Nursing Home and Camp Kerry Atlantic. During that time, he has also supervised music therapy students and interns, and has presented at various health care conferences in the Atlantic Region. In addition to music therapy work, Darrel is a singer-songwriter, recording engineer and music producer with Blue Acres Music Productions.

HOW TO REGISTER

Step 1: Fill out our convenient online registration form.

Step 2: Groups and Classes: Our representative will get in touch with you. For classes confirmation of enrolment and payment will be processed.
Private lessons: Our representative will put you in touch with a faculty member.
Once you and your teacher have agreed on the time, length and number of lessons your payment will be processed.

Step 3: Payment: Payments can be made either via phone (902-423-6995) or in-person (6199 Chebucto Road) during business hours before attending your first class.
