BMus
Victoria Ioannou has been teaching violin since 2016, and she has been teaching strings classes with Halifax Regional Arts since 2022. She has always been inspired by the Suzuki approach to learning. Through a positive and supportive learning environment where students are exposed to immersive musical experiences, every student can learn to play well. She aims to support and encourage students in discovering their own passions in music and adapt to their goals and learning styles. In addition to classical music, she teaches fiddle and any genre that her students are passionate about.
Victoria holds a Bachelor of Music from Acadia University where she studied with Dr. Gillian Smith. She has also studied with Conrad Chow and Isabelle Fournier, and she has completed her Suzuki Teacher Training. She was on faculty with Citadel Music, Port Perry School of Music and has adjudicated at the Durham Showcase Music Festival in Ontario. She has performed with Nova Sinfonia and numerous chamber ensembles, playing both violin and viola. She has always enjoyed performing a variety of genres, and her interests lie in pedagogy, performance
psychology and collaborative performance.
