Solène Bernier is an emerging dance artist and a graduate of École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal (2019). She has performed in work by Bradley Eng for Festival Quartiers Danses and collaborated on Cheline Lacroix’s dance film May the Best Loser Win (F-O-R-M Festival Vancouver). Currently based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax NS, she has worked with local choreographers including Kathleen Doherty (Votive Dance), Susanne Chui (Mocean Dance), Liliona Quarmyne, and Meredith Kalaman. Solène has also participated in various choreographic and research-based workshops such as Nova Scotia Masterwork’s Future Master’s Program, Mocean Dance’s CLEaR Forum, and the Creative Music Workshop in association with the Halifax Jazz Festival. Additionally, in summer 2023 she attended the b12 contemporary dance festival in Berlin, Germany with support from Arts Nova Scotia. Ongoing projects include works by Leah Skerry and Alyssa Martin, as well as Lydia Zimmer (Zimmerdans) for the LiveArt 2023-24 Main Stage series.
