MA Musicology
Nicole Anaka (she/her) is an educator and performer living and working in K’jipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki (Halifax Nova Scotia.) She has has trained in Dalcroze Eurythmics at the Longy School of Music (Cambridge, Mass.) and has a B.Mus from Mount Allison University and an MA in Musicology from the University of Victoria, where her research centred on the vocal theatre of Meredith Monk and Diamanda Galás. She began teaching Kindermusik at the Conservatory in 2016 and has been the Kindermusik Department Head since 2020. Nicole loves sharing the joy and power of music and movement with people of all ages, and strives to create truly inclusive and welcoming learning environments.
